Whale Watching Raincheck

As I have previously mentioned (multiple times now), Dave and I had planned a trip to the East Coast this summer, but this has since been canceled in lieu of a 'new' car and an extended trip to Montreal and Chris' cottage. This makes me a little sad as I very much wanted to go whale watching. I have always wanted to capture an image like the one below, and though I know it is very rare, it would have been amazing.

Our trip will be postponed and I will take a raincheck on whale watching until next year when hopefully there are less unforeseen, money-guzzling circumstances.
Chris was able to go whale watching on the west coast this summer and had the 'pleasure' of witnessing an pod of Orcas (killer whales) hunting sea lions. A truly spectucalur, yet dismal display of the natural world.

Maritimes

My parents called last night mostly for one reason: to let me know that they are heading out east today for up to two weeks. I am very happy that they are doing some sort of vacation. My dad has a vacation every year when he goes out fishing with his friends in Ompa, but my mom on the other hand, tends to just sit at home during her vacation every summer. Anyway, they are taking Comet with them which is what makes this vacation so perfect for them as finding someone to watch their puppy is hard since he has separation anxiety and other little quirks that make him special.
I am not sure what their plans are, or what route they are taking though I know the driving is going to be my dad's favourite part of the trip. He loves long drives and road trips.
Originally, Dave and I had planned on making a road trip out east, but then the car accident happened and we can no longer afford a big trip, as mentioned in a previous post. This was the time that I was wanting to go on the maritimes trip though, so I am a little sad that we can't go. But I really hope that they have a good time and hopefully are able to get some good pictures.

Maritimes

I am starting to plan our vacation out east for this summer (I know it's a little early, but that is how I roll). I have really no clue as to where to start in terms of the route - I can Google it but I don't know where the good places to visit are. Since I know many people have done this trip before I am asking for help - any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I am currently thinking of going through Canada on the way there and stopping in Quebec City for a couple of days and then returning to Ottawa through the states (crossing the bridge at Prescott/Johnstown for comfort sake). Anyway, this is pretty much all I have so far as I really only started my research today - I am sure more will come as I play around in Google.
